STACEY Dooley has revealed she would love to have children “one day” and hopes to move away from the UK, as she describes the thought of having a family “a beautiful feeling”.
The presenter is currently enjoying a new relationship with her Strictly co-star Kevin Clifton after growing close on the BBC show.
The 32-year-old has opened up for the first time since winning Strictly Come Dancing and being catapulted into the spotlight at the end of last year.
With every area of her life – including her much talked about romance with co-star Kevin Clifton – now under scrutiny, the documentary maker has kept a relatively low profile.
But speaking to Red magazine the red-haired beauty confessed she would like to have a break from the UK and would love a family one day.
She revealed: “I love England, but I wouldn’t mind living abroad for a couple of years.
“I do love America when I’m there. I would love a family. When I was making the fascinating families series, I thought it must be a beautiful feeling to have “your team”. Maybe one day.”
The star hit the headlines when news broke she’d split from ex-boyfriend Sam Tucknott and gone public with Kevin, 36. But Stacey revealed she isn’t about to comment on the rumours.
She said: “You have to allow people to think for themselves and you can’t pass judgement. I don’t let outsiders worry me too much, I really mean that.
“I’m in Iraq filming really remarkable women telling me they’ve lost their babies, you know? So, if somebody’s gossiping or saying they don’t like me, in the grand scheme of things, it’s really not the end of the world.”
Stacey’s ex Sam branded Kevin an “absolute rat” after he discovered their relationship.
Sam claims he and Stacey had already agreed to split when he discovered she was dating Kevin, and says he “confronted her” when he saw the message.
He recalled: “I was getting my stuff to leave. Stacey was in the loo.
“Her phone went and it was Kevin Clifton – ‘I love you’ with a red love heart.
“I grabbed the phone and confronted her. She said she’d tell me everything I needed to know.”
Stacey hit back at his comments, writing on Twitter: “Anyone with any adult life experience knows there are 2 sides to every story.
“I haven’t got the time or energy to correct some of the utter nonsense I’ve read on here. (sic)”
But Stace insisted she only wishes “happiness and success” for Sam in the future.
She wrote: “Re Sam, I loved him v much and only wish him happiness and success going forward. (sic)
