Stacey Dooley has opened up about her concerns her
relationship with
Kevin Clifton would be seen as a ‘cliché’ amid rumours of the
Strictly curse.

The couple met after being partnered together on the 2018 series of Strictly Come Dancing, but despite being friends first, Stacey was worried the way they met would meant they were labelled with the Strictly curse forever.

When she began the series, Stacey had been in a relationship
with Sam Tucknott, but insists her romance with Kevin, 37, started long after
they broke up.

Stacey, 33, told BBC Radio 5’s Headliners podcast: ‘I didn’t want to be such a cliché – it’s so cringe and
cheesy. I want to be cooler than this.

‘Kev and I were pals for such a long time. I liked hanging out with him. So it was much later
down the line for us.’

The pair have remained happily together ever
since, and while Stacey thinks Kevin would be a great dad, she’s unsure whether
she wants to bring any children into the uncertain world we are living in.

She explained: ‘He is an angel. He is the kindest man I’ve met. His temperament is very chilled and he would be an amazing father.

‘I think I want to have kids, I’m sort of back
and forth. I love the idea of having a
gang, a unit, an us against the world.

‘I love all that. And I would to take care of
someone. But I’m also quite morbid and because I’ve seen so much s**t, I think
what am I bringing them into.’

Stacey has travelled the world creating documentaries about serious social issues, and has often been left in tears on camera after being overwhelmed with the suffering and hardship she has witnessed.
