Tottenham have reportedly offered Atletico Madrid the opportunity to sign Christian Eriksen this summer, but he is holding out for offers from Real Madrid, Juventus or Manchester United.

The 27-year-old said earlier this summer that he is interested in ‘trying something new’ although stated that any move would have to be a ‘step up’ from Spurs.

Despite being one of the Premier League’s best players, offers have been slow to materialise for the Dane, with Real Madrid and Juventus expressing an interest, but not producing bids.

Spurs now appear happy to let Eriksen go, with Spanish publication AS reporting that they have offered the play-maker to Atleti for around £60m.

With just one year left on the midfielder’s contract, Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is keen to cash in on him while he can, rather than let him go for free in 2020.

Spurs also have other transfer targets they are interested in this summer and want to attract some cash for Eriksen to reinvest in the likes of Giovani Lo Celso, for whom they are expected to bid imminently.

However, the Telegraph reports that Eriksen wants to wait for other offers to emerge before he makes a decision on his future, specifically from Real Madrid, Juventus and Manchester United.

Eriksen specifically referenced Real when he mentioned the possibility of leaving Spurs, but also made it clear that he could stay in north London.

‘Real Madrid is a step up but then it would take Real Madrid picking up the phone and making contact with Tottenham and say that they want Christian. And that they haven’t done as far as I know,’ he told Ekstra Badet.

‘It all depends on Daniel Levy and there has to be another club too. Or I will sit down myself at the table and negotiate a new contract. You can’t set a date yourself. There aren’t many boxes that Tottenham don’t tick so if I have to move away, it would have to be a step up.’
