Spotify Wrapped 2020: When you could see your most played songs stats, and what the overall UK data says

The end of the year is traditionally a time for reflection on key aspects of life – in recent years, this has extended into reflecting upon what we played most on Spotify.

Released around the start of December, the annual Spotify Wrapped feature offers an insight into what people around the world have been listening to throughout the year, as well as giving you a deep dive into your own habits.

The results, as you have probably seen on social media, are always illuminating and, occasionally, ever so slightly embarrassing – here’s what this year’s overall statistics have revealed, and the latest news on when you could find out.

When will Spotify Wrapped 2020 be released?

The overall Spotify Wrapped statistics for listeners in the UK and around the world went live on Tuesday 1 December.

This data collates the habits of Spotify’s reputed 320 million global listeners to create a ranking of the most streamed artists, tracks, albums and podcasts in the UK and around the world.

The personalised Wrapped feature, which gives you an often revealing deep dive into your own listening habits, tends to follow a little later, and the firm has remained tight-lipped about the precise release date.

However, Spotify has app has hinted at an announcement is coming “in the coming days,” as well as promising “exciting new features” for this year’s edition, so you shouldn’t have long to wait.

Last year, the overall listening data also went live on the first Tuesday of December, with the personalised feature coming two days later – so if that pattern follows in 2020, you can expect it on Thursday 3 December.

Currently, the official Spotify Wrapped website simply carries the message “coming soon,” adding: “Keep listening on Spotify and we’ll let you know when your 2020 Wrapped is ready.”

When it does arrive, as per previous editions you will be able to see your most played artist and song, as well exactly how many minutes you spent listening on the app during the past 12 months.

You’ve also previously been given a curated playlist of your most played tunes from the past 12 months, while last year users also learned their stats for the whole of the past decade.

Whether you then choose to share that with the world on social media depends, of course, on how embarrassing your music taste is (admit it, it’s very embarassing).
