Even Gary Lineker has been keeping himself entertained by watching videos of marbles racing down a sandy track.

Alongside a short, but very intense, clip, he wrote on Twitter: “Can’t believe I watched this all the way to the end.

“The lack of live sport is clearly to getting to me. Withdrawal symptoms.”

And it turns out that the ex-England international is not the only that he has been using marble racing to cure their boredom.

In fact, a YouTube page called ‘Jelle’s Marble Runs’ has now racked up over 612,000 subscribers.

The popular channel includes the ‘Marbelympics’, rally races, obstacle courses and even hurdle events.

Speaking on Twitter, one amused fan said: “Day four without sports… marble racing is intense.”

Another added: “Why was this so intense? Are we all bored or is marble racing just something we ignored for too long.”

And one Twitter user claimed: “Marble racing will fill the dark void in my soul.”

The videos come complete with hilarious commentary – which has led ‘Comet’ to becoming a fan favourite online.

One fan said: “I’ll tell you something – I was rooting for Comet like he was my son.”

Fans have been losing their marbles since the rapid spread of coronavirus caused sporting events across the globe to be axed.

The Premier League has been suspended until April 4, but fans will hope marble racing can keep them amused until then.
