The Forest Therapy Experience, £190 per person, is the ultimate indulgence.

Snooze your way through a blissful head-to-toe body massage, before enjoying a posh picnic and cocktails in a private hot tub beside the river.

Refuel There are four restaurants on-site.

Nibble on spicy chicken wings, £7.50, and steak, £24, in Gillies, or a smoked fish pizza, £16, in Fratelli.

Don’t miss 45 minutes’ drive north on the tip of Northern Ireland’s coast is the jaw-dropping Giant’s Causeway.

The Spa With a pool, hot tub, steam room, sauna and solarium, you can easily spend a day hopping between experiences and getting your lengths in.

Book a mani, £21, or Caudalíe face or body treatment, from £41, then soak up the woodland views from the beds in the relaxation lounge.

We loved the chicken, chorizo and roasted red pepper pie, £18.25, covered in rioja gravy, followed by delicious sticky toffee pudding, £6.95.

Got a real sweet tooth? Make sure you treat yourself to a salted caramel martini, £10.

Come morning, the breakfast buffet is plentiful – expect pastries, fruit and an array of cooked breakfast treats.

Don’t miss Head to Lee-on-Solent for a beach day or Gunwharf Quays designer outlet centre for bargains galore. Both are just a 20-minute drive away.
