Tom Holland is the reason Sony and Disney came to an agreement about Spider-Man continuing to appear in Marvel movies.

We all had a little freak out when news broke that Disney and Sony Pictures negotiations had come to a halt, which meant Peter Parker no longer belonged in the Marvel Universe.

That all doesn’t matter now because Tom saved the day.

Fans obviously protested the decision and the 23-year-old took the anger to heart and, according to The Hollywood Reporter, used his starring role in Sony’s Uncharted movie as leverage to convince Sony chair Tom Rothman to fix things with Disney.

He also reportedly reached out to Disney CEO Bob Iger.

Bold move, Spidey.

A few months ago, Disney offered to co-finance the next Spider-Man movie in exchange for half of the box office, to which Sony (obviously) refused.

But then, after we thought the company would be fully losing one of their much loved characters to Sony, Disney have gone and announced the president of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige will take the helm.

Marvel had originally teamed up with Sony to cast Tom Holland as the new Peter Parker and he endeared himself to fans instantly with his appearance in Captain America: Civil War all the way through to his end at Avengers: Endgame.

The 46-year-old revealed how excited he is to continue Spidey’s story – and we’re happy it’s in safe hands. He said in a statement: ‘I am thrilled that Spidey’s journey in the MCU will continue, and I and all of us at Marvel Studios are very excited that we get to keep working on it.

‘Spider-Man is a powerful icon and hero whose story crosses all ages and audiences around the globe.

‘He also happens to be the only hero with the superpower to cross cinematic universes, so as Sony continues to develop their own Spidey-verse you never know what surprises the future might hold.’

If we had known Tom is this good at persuasion, we’d use him for every argument ever.

Tom Holland truly is Spider-Man.
