Spice Girls superfan Emma Stone meets Emma Bunton before Wembley gig as ‘2 become 1’

Spice Girls superfan Emma Stone finally got to meet Emma Bunton before the first show in London.

Bunton posted two snaps of the namesakes hanging out at Wembley Stadium before the opening night of their three-day residency, rounding off their short reunion tour.

One showed the pair standing in front of the Spice World set while another selfie had both stars beaming with excitement at finally meeting.

Making use of one of the band’s most famous songs, Bunton captioned: “When Emma met Emma. #2become1.”

Earlier on Thursday, Bunton revealed that the La La Land actress was headed to the show and that she was “really excited” to meet her. Stone, as a massive Baby Spice fan, felt the same

“I hope I’m allowed to say this but Emma Stone is coming tonight and I’ve never met Emma Stone and we’re going to be meeting her so I’m really excited,” Bunton told Heart Breakfast.

“She actually, apparently, her name was Emily but she wanted it to be Emma because she was such a Spice Girl Fan.”

Previously talking about her name change, Stone told Jimmy Fallon that she wanted to move away from her given name because she was such a big fan of Bunton.

“I was super blonde, and my real name is Emily, but I wanted to be called Emma because of Baby Spice and guess what, now I am,” she said. “So, that’s pretty messed up.”

The actress continued: “It wasn’t necessarily because of her. But yes, in second grade, did I go up to the teacher and ask her to call me Emma? Yes I did.

“And was it because of Emma Lee Bunton from the Spice Girls? Yes it was.”

The Spice Girls finish off their short stadium tour at Wembley Stadium with shows tonight and tomorrow.
