Spice Girls lost out on making a HUGE £4m by ‘cancelling’ reunion gigs

THE Spice Girls have lost out on making a huge £4million after the coronavirus pandemic forced them to abandon plans for another lucrative reunion tour.

The group – Geri Horner, Victoria Beckham, Mel B, Mel C and Emma Bunton – shared a £4million pot after their 2019 tour proved a monster hit with nostalgia-loving fans.

The pop icons had spoken of their desire to tour again, with Mel C telling Lorraine Kelly they “talk about it all the time”.

And they would have likely made another £4million if they had been able to embark on another money-spinning run.

Covid-19 floored live performances and as a result the latest figures from the stars’ Spice Girls Ltd firm have depleted.

Their accountants have just filed books to Companies House that reveal the trading arm has a bottom line of £436,432.

Books for 2019 had assets and cash of £4.47m – thanks largely to the live shows.

And the figures showed that Victoria Beckham made nearly £1million by NOT singing on the reunion tour.

Designer Posh snubbed the gigs, which took place in stadiums around the country, but benefited from renewed interest in the band.

And Posh Spice even raked in more from the reunion tour than from her failing fashion business.

She made nearly £1million in cash-making ventures on the back of the 13 UK comeback gigs she snubbed — much more than the £700,000 she paid herself from her clothes label.

She was entitled to a fifth of the take of the endorsements, licensing deals and merchandising generated by the gigs, despite leaving Mel C, Geri, Emma, and Mel C to do them without her.

The five women are the only active members and directors of the firm, according to Companies House records.

Fans are left divided over the Spice Girls Cardiff performance as they complain about the concert’s ‘wet’ conditions and ‘terrible’ sound problems
