A kidnapping case brought against Soulja Boy has been dropped because there was sufficient evidence.

The 28-year-old was cleared of charges for allegedly holding a woman hostage in his garage and tying her to a chair, TMZ reports.

Soulja Boy was arrested in February, shortly after police searching his Agoura Hills home found weapons and ammunition but no evidence of a kidnapping.

Police were initially called to the home over a woman’s claims that she was tied up for six hours with an extension cord, which he denied.

Following further police investigation, it was decided by The Ventura County District Attorney last week that Soulja Boy would not be prosecuted over her claims.

The weapons that were found inadvertently at Soulja Boy’s home are a very different story.

The artist was already on a 5-year probation for carrying a loaded firearm in public in 2014.

By being in possession of weapons or ammunition at his home, he therefore violated the terms of his probation.

In April, he failed to commit to his court-ordered 265 days community service and was subsequently sentenced to 240 days in jail.
