Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas get matching tattoos after death of dog Waldo

Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas paid tribute to their beloved dog Waldo after the pet was killed in a ‘traffic accident.’

The couple’s Alaskan Klee Kai was reportedly hit by a car in New York City while being walked on a leash by their dog walker.

The dog is thought to have been “spooked” by a pedestrian before running into the street, with a representative for Jonas describing the sad incident as “a freak accident.”

The newlyweds unveiled their special tributes to the pet in a series of Instagram posts, in which they addressed their loss publicly for the first time.

Sharing a photo of a small tattoo of the Klee Kai on her Instagram Story, Turner wrote: “I miss you, Waldo. Rest in peace my little baby.”

Her husband posted a similar picture which showed an identical portrait of the dog inked on his arm with the caption: “R.I.P. my little angel.”

The couple’s famous friends were quick to share their condolences after the accident, with Turner’s Dark Phoenix co-star Jessica Chastain commenting: “I’m so sorry.”

Sister-in-law Priyanka Chopra posted a heart emoji while actress Rumer Willis wrote: “So sorry to hear that.” 

Jonas’s mother Denise described the pet as a “sweet angel.”

Turner and Jonas are thought to have adopted Waldo in April 2018. They also own another Klee Kai named Porky Basquiat, who was born in the same litter as Waldo.

The couple flew Porky out to France for their second wedding ceremony earlier this summer, where the dog was pictured wearing a special tuxedo for the celebrations.
