Son Heung-min apologises to Andre Gomes in goal celebration as fans hail Tottenham star

Son Heung-min has seemingly apologised to Andre Gomes for his tackle on the Portuguese during Tottenham’s game with Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League.

Gomes broke his ankle in horrifying fashion after Son’s tackle in Spurs’ game with Everton at the weekend.

The South Korean could barely be consoled after finding out the extent of Gomes’ injuries.

And in Tottenham’s clash with Belgrade, he’s seemingly offered his apologies to the Everton player.

Son scored the second and third goals during his side’s 3-0 thrashing of Belgrade in Europe.

After scoring his first goal, Son put his hands up to the camera and put them together in a praying motion – presumably to apologise for his tackle on Sunday.

Gary Lineker wrote on Twitter: “Son scores a super goal and goes to the camera and says sorry down the lens, presumably aimed at Andre Gomes. Nice touch.”

One Spurs fan said: “Great goal by Son and what a gesture for Gomes in his celebration.”

Another wrote: “Son 2-0! I think his celebration was a apology to Gomes.”

“That “celebration” by Son where he apologised to Gomes, that was class,” another aded.

This one tweeted: “Son apologising to Andre Gomes. Imagine hating him.”
