Some of the Best Movies Featuring Animals

Some of the biggest and best movies ever made have included animals, haven’t they? Featuring not just cute pets, but also jungle animals, prehistoric animals, barnyard critters, mythical creatures, and sometimes even horrible beasts, you’ll struggle to find someone who hasn’t enjoyed at least one movie of this type.

Love Island isn’t exactly suitable for the whole family, but many of the movies featuring animals we all know and love certainly are. Alongside that, they’re incredibly entertaining, usually include famous A-list actors and can be very funny too.

So, without further ado, below are some of the best animal movies of all-time.

The Lion King

Releasing this classic in 1994, Walt Disney Pictures might not have realised just how big the movie was going to be. Telling the story of a young lion cub called Simba, who will one day be King of the Pride Lands, succeeding his father Mufasa, The Lion King is a phenomenon that has gripped the world since its inception and is a story that will remain forever timeless. There are, of course, some upsetting moments, but overall this masterpiece is one for all generations at any time of the year.

Finding Nemo

Walt Disney Pictures released this gem in 2003, with the computer animated movie proving to be a humongous hit. Not only did Finding Nemo have a star-studded cast, which included the likes of Willem Dafoe, Alexander Gould, Albert Brooks, and Ellen DeGeneres, but the story was witty and clever too with the main character, a fish called called Dory, suffering from short-term memory loss. The story is about an over-protective father who searches for his son Nemo who was abducted. Their trip takes them all the way to Sydney, Australia where various situations unfold.

King Kong

Released in 2005, King Kong is an epic monster adventure remake of the 1933 version of the same name. In fact, the character is so popular that a number of games have been created off the back of it, with the opportunity to sign in and play the epic ape slot at Mansion UK being just one of them. It really is an iconic movie and story, although not something we’d like to see in real life! Should a King Kong type creature, like the movie shows, ever be discovered in a place like Skull Island and then taken to New York where he subsequently escapes, then we’d all be absolutely screwed. Thankfully, though, we might have someone like Ann available who could form a bond with Kong and save us all.

Babe

Best Movies Featuring Animals

An Australian-American movie which was released in 1995, Babe is an all-time classic comedy/drama starring a pig, called Babe, who is raised for food but just wants to herd sheep instead. Based on a 1983 novel written by Dick King-Smith, Babe is a remarkable creation. Heck, the main characters, which are animals, are even played by a combination of both animatronic and real Border Collies and pigs. One to watch if you haven’t seen it already!

Bambi

An American animation released in 1942 and based on the same book, Bambi is a movie many people would have grown up with – certainly those from a slightly older generation anyway. The story is about Bambi, a fawn, and how Bambi makes new friends in Thumper, a young rabbit, and Flower, a young skunk. The trio end up exploring the surrounding woods, where they encounter the various dangers among them. Tragedy and fear touch Bambi’s young life, but hope and renewal also surfaces too in this beautifully powerful movie.
