Pogba is the subject of interest from Real Madrid, although a move did not materialise in the summer.

Agent Mino Raiola is trying to get the 26-year-old a big-money switch in the upcoming window, with fees north of £100million being discussed.

But United are not ready to sell. And ahead of today’s visit of Newcastle, boss Solskjaer said: “We need to get him back into the team.

‘THE BEAUTY OF PAUL’

“He can play anywhere in midfield, he can drop deep and play long passes, he can combine with one-twos, so it depends on the game.

“That’s the beauty of Paul — he is the best all-round midfielder in the world.”

Pog returned to action in United’s 2-0 loss at Watford on Sunday after missing almost three months with an ankle injury.

Last weekend, when United drew at home to Everton, Solskjaer said Pogba missed the game through injury — despite him being pictured dancing at his brother’s wedding.

Quizzed on whether Pogba will start against Toon, Solskjaer said: “Let’s see how Paul reacts.

“It is a big, big plus and it might be that we get him into the starting team.”
