Sokratis Papastathopoulos believe Arsenal have the upper-hand against Manchester United heading into this weekend’s Premier League clash.

The Gunners fell to an embarrasing 1-3 defeat to Rennes on Thursday night which also saw the Greece international sent off.

In contrast, the Red Devils enjoyed a fantastic evening in Paris as they overturned a 2-0 deficit to PSG to advance to last eight of the Champions League.

However, United’s emphatic win doesn’t seem to be phasing the Arsenal squad heading into their game on Sunday at the Emirates.

When asked if he thought United would be more difficult to play against after their victory over PSG, Sokratis responded: ‘No. We play in our home.

‘We know what we can do. We will play with confidence and everything will be good. It is a game that we know is very important for us but we will be ready.

‘Of course we watched [the PSG match]. Everybody watched. But we will be ready, everybody is thinking about Sunday’s game already and we will give 100 percent.’

The game between Arsenal and Manchester United is scheduled for a 4.30pm kick off on Sunday, with the winner gaining a vital three points in the race for the top four.

United are currently fourth in the table on 58 points, with Arsenal in fifth on 57.
