Presenter Kirsty Gallacher went over to the desk where they sitting during the ITV coverage in order to see how they were getting on.

However, just as she was interviewing Barney Walsh, Kirsty noticed Alison’s phone was ringing.

But Alison failed to pick it up, as instead she inadvertently ended the call.

“I ended the call, I’m so sorry. Just phone back,” she said, addressing the donator.

She continued: “I’ve just spoken to Patricia, thank you for donating ten pounds.”

“This is like a proper job, this is great!” Alison told Kirsty.

Irregardless of her blunder, many fans were excited to see Alison on their screens.

“Great to see Alison Hammond taking part on the phones tonight #SoccerAid,” one wrote.

While another added: “I’d call #SoccerAid just to have a chinwag with @AlisonHammond2.”

Before the match kicked off on ITV, Dermot had a chat with Piers and Harry along with Susanna and Sam.

Talk turned to how things had gone on behind-the-scenes with the managers when Harry made a revelation which stunned Dermot.

Dermot asked Harry whether he’d managed to get a word in edgeways when it came to working with the journalist.

“Not many,” Harry divulged. “One or two but he’s been good actually, I’ve left the tactics to him today.”

Dermot clearly couldn’t believe what he was hearing as he exclaimed: “What?!”

“You know what, if we win he’ll take the credit if we lose it will be my fault,” the football manager replied.

Meanwhile, Susanna was concerned about how “unbearable” Piers would be at the Good Morning Britain studios tomorrow.

She shared: “I don’t want to turn up tomorrow at Good Morning Britain if we lose because he has entire bragging rights and he will be unbearable.

“If we win, he will be unbearable.”
