Despite the film’s troubled route to UK cinema screens, we have a lot of love of for the Chris Evans and Tilda Swinton-starring comic book movie Snowpiercer here at Geek Towers. Massive Hollywood stars trapped on a train filled with class warfare… what’s not to love?

We were intrigued to hear, then, back in 2015, that a Snowpiercer TV show was in the works, and even more excited to hear that a pilot was in production with Scott Derrickson (Doctor Strange) calling the shots. But while a series order for Snowpiercer gave us the impression that it was chugging along smoothly on the proverbial track of production, the series hit an unscheduled station stop, as the appointed showrunner/writer/executive-producer, Josh Friedman, parted ways with the series over the cited reason of creative differences.

His replacement was quickly found, however. Graeme Manson has taken over showrunner duties. Manson, who achieved acclaim as the co-creator/writer/executive-producer of BBC America’s 2013-2017 clone-centric thriller series, Orphan Black, has stepped into the cab of Snowpiercer’s proverbial post-apocalyptic locomotive, and the series has already preemptively been renewed for a second season.
