Snow Patrol pulls out of Glastonbury as Johnny McDaid undergoes immediate neck surgery

Snow Patrol were due to take The Other Stage at the legendary Glastonbury Festival 2019 this coming Friday but have since announced the band has pulled out of the show.

Lead singer Gary Lightbody, 43, announced the unfortunate news about guitarist Johnny McDaid, 42, on the group’s Facebook account today.

On their official account he wrote: “We are sorry to have to announce the cancellation of more shows.

“We are all of course worried about our brother Johnny. He is a force of nature and a giant light in our lives on stage and off and we of course will give him all the time and support he needs to recover.

“Johnny has been incredible in the wake of this news and has remained calm at a time when a lot of people might freak out.”
