Snoop Dogg shares throwback video of Tupac Shakur from year rapper died

Snoop Dogg has shared a video of himself hanging out with the late Tupac Shakur at the Grammy Awards, in an apparent moment of nostalgia.

The video appears to have been taken at the 1996 Grammys – the year Tupac died – and shows the rapper hanging around with Snoop as he is interviewed by a reporter.

The reporter asks about the chain Tupac is wearing, to which he responds: “I’m trying to bring 1989 back, I was broke in ‘89. Plus, they had me in jail for a year for a crime I didn’t commit. They locked me in chains so I’ma put on a chain.”

Snoop shared the video with the cpation “2AMW”, referring to his memorable track “2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted”, their collaboration for Tupac’s 1996 double album All Eyez on Me

Snoop Dogg inducted Tupac into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2017, when he referred to him as “the greatest rapper of all time”.

Snoop is performing a New Year’s gig tonight (31 December) at E11even, a nightclub in downtown Miami.
