Snoop Dogg leads tributes for rapper Bad Azz after he ‘dies in jail’ aged 43

Snoop Dogg has led tributes for rapper Bad Azz who has reportedly died in jail at the age of 43.

Bad Azz, real name Jamarr Antonio Stamps, is believed to have been in custody at the Southwest Detention Center in Riverside, California at the time of his death.

A cause of death is yet to be revealed.

Leading the tributes, Snoop posted on Instagram: ‘Damn. R. I. P. To my young. D. P. G. L. L. G. L. B. C. Crew original @badazzlbc gone 2 soon [sic].’

Rapper Trizz also said: I’m so hurt right now. F**k man. I can’t believe this. Bad Azz was in the studio wit me while I recorded Pull Up 2 and AMB 2 w/ Chuuwee lost a West Coast don. long live Bad Azz. RIP [sic].’

Tha Dog Pound rapper Daz Dillinger posted a screenshot of Bad Azz’s reported jail rap sheet, revealing that he was being held on a charge of domestic violence. The details appear to be listed on the Jail Information Management System website.

Daz captioned the image: ‘NO JUSTICE NO PEACE BAD AZZ RIP.’

According to the sheet, Bad Azz was next scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday (13 November).

Bad Azz was best known for his affiliation with Snoop Dogg, while he also collaborated with the late Tupac Shakur, Busta Rhymes, Ice Cube, Warren G, Bizzy Bone, Kurupt, Mistah F.A.B. and MC Eight.

The rapper released his debut solo album Word On Tha Streets back in 1998 and was also a part of the LBC Crew (Long Beach City Crew). Bad Azz was also signed to Snoop Dogg’s Doggystyle Records briefly.
