Snoop Dogg reached new heights of legendary last year when he thanked himself (yes, himself) in his speech after being immortalised on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The rapper has now revealed the reasoning behind his oh-so-humble speech, explaining that he wanted to give himself a ‘pat on the back’ because not enough people take credit for their achievements.

And because he’s a ‘bad motherf**ker’. Snoop for President, anyone?

‘The speech was spur of the moment,’ the 47-year-old said on The Ellen Degeneres Show last Friday.

‘I didn’t really have time to come up with nothing because I felt like the people that was there that were instrumental in my life, I wanted to speak to them.’

He added: ‘And then, I wanted to speak to myself because I felt like I was the one that did most of the work and I was the one that had to go out on the line and do it and make it happen.’

You see Snoop wanted to ‘give himself some credit’. Naturally.

‘A lot of times, we fail to give ourselves a pat on the back and I wanted to take that moment to thank myself for doing all the work I did to get to that point,’ he said.

The rapper, whose real name is Calvin Broadus, gave his self-appraising speech when he got a Hollywood star last November.

The ceremony coincided with the 25th anniversary of his iconic debut album Doggystyle’s release and Snoop told the crowd: ‘Last but not least, I want to thank me for believing in me.

‘I want to thank me for doing all this hard work, I want to thank me for having no days off, I want to thank me for never quitting, I want to thank me for always being a giver and trying to give more than I receive.’

He went on: ‘I want to thank me for trying to do more rights than wrong, I want to thank me for just being me at all times. Snoop Dogg, you a bad motherf**ker.’

Good one, Snoop. If we’d sold hundreds of millions of albums worldwide we’d probably have done the same thing.

His appearance on Ellen came after the rapper showed off just how dope he really is when narrating the Game Of Thrones finale.

(Look away for spoilers, you’ve been warned)

Just like us, Snoop was pretty shook when Jon Snow killed Dany and he snapped on Instagram: ‘Bitch ass n***a done killed the queen, cuz.

‘I’m mad cuz. Burn his motherf****** ass. Son of a f******’ b***h.’

And Snoop didn’t stop there, oh no.

He later lent his Attenborough-style voice-over talents to beauty guru Nikkie de Jager’s make-up tutorial to provide nine full minutes of pure comedy gold.
