The sad day has come – Snooki Polizzi is retiring from Jersey Shore.
The reality star, who first appeared in the MTV show when it initially aired in 2009, is leaving because she ‘wants to be home with the kids’ and can no longer stand all the ‘drama’ and ‘death threats.’
During a recording of her podcast, It’s Happening with Snooki & Joey, The 32-year-old dramatically announced her decision to quit.
She said: ‘I love you so much, and don’t hate me for my decision…I am retiring from Jersey Shore. I am not coming back to Jersey Shore for season four if there is one.
‘The main reason is really … I just can’t do it anymore,’ she continued. ‘Literally, leaving my kids to film it is really, really hard on me,’
Snooki, who has a five-year old daughter Giovanna Marie and two sons Lorenzo Dominic, seven, and Angelo James, six months, with husband Jionni LaValle, explained she has been receiving death threats and things have come to a head: ‘the show isn’t what it was … it’s all drama and team this and team that and death threats and I’m not about it anymore.’
‘This is getting a little too much. At 32-years old and with three kids, if I’m doing a reality show I just want it to be fun and light-hearted and lately it’s not like that and the show is getting so dramatic,’ she said.
She said the decision to leave has not been an easy one: ‘I try and quit every single day. I quit every time we film because I just hate being away from the kids,’ she said.
‘I don’t like partying three days in a row. It’s just not my life anymore.’
However never fear as she said she’s not quitting TV altogether.
‘I’m not saying goodbye … I just need to move on from the show,’ she added.
With two spinoff shows Snooki & Jwoww and Nicole & Jionni’s Shore Flip under her belt, plus appearances on season 17 of Dancing with the Stars and The New Celebrity Apprentice, we don’t think this will be the last we see of Snooki somehow…
