Snakehips and Jess Glynne

They have worked with some of the biggest names in contemporary music including ZAYN, Anderson Paak, Chance The Rapper and now pop superstar Jess Glynne on new track Lie For You.

The new track also features Afrobeats superstar Davido and US rapper A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie and is also Grammy winner Jess Glynne’s first single release of 2020.

Transforming the mega-lineup of Snakehips, Jess Glynne, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie and Davido into resilient anime avatars, the official video for their infectious collaborative single ‘Lie For You’ is out now. The production was created by Hound Content, director Nicholas Lam and animation studio Point Five Creations.

Set in a dystopian authoritarian state, the visual begins with no-nonsense parteners Jess Glynne and Davido setting out on a mission to dismantle the system. With the evil corporation using everything in their power to stop them, they launch Weapon X, a imperishable mech controlled by A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie. Just when all hope is seemingly lost, Snakehips’ duo James & Ollie crash onto the scene and help to destroy A Boogie and his evil cohorts, restoring peace and humanity to the world.

To mark the release of the single and the video, Snakehips have compiled and talk us through a playlist below featuring a top ten of their favourite animated music videos.

Daft Punk – One More Time

This is such a timeless anthem. I loved how Daft Punk created this crazy, colourful animé world with all their vids.

Kanye West – Good Morning

There were a few really cool Kanye animated music vids around this time but this was a definite favourite. ‘Heartless’ was another good one.

J.I.D. – EdEddnEddy

J.I.D. is one of our favourite rappers at the moment. Used to watch Ed Edd & Eddy when I was younger and it’s dope how they made a trippy video in the style of that for this song.

Breakbot – Baby I’m Yours

This is a proper feel good disco anthem. The video was really 70s vibes and worked so good with the music.

Porter Robinson & Madeon – Shelter

Another really cool animé video. This tune and video are both so epic.

Travis Scott – 90210

Classic Travis Scott record, the Kacy Hill vocals are beautiful. This video was so cool with the action figures.

Gorillaz – Clint Eastwood

This song reminds me so much of being in primary school. Think this was the first Gorillaz track they put out with all the characters and stuff. Such a vibe.

Jay-Z – The Story Of OJ

Love the old school cartoon vibes on this video. Great song too with a powerful message.

Kelela – Frontline

Kelela is such a dope artist, been a fan of her for years. This video was so cool in the style of the Sims. Like the video was old-school but the music was from the future.

Red Hot Chilli Peppers – Californication

This was such a classic song and video, I remember watching it loads as a kid. Was badass how they made it like GTA.
