Smallville’s Tom Welling returns as Clark Kent in The CW’s crossover event, Crisis on Infinite Earths
Tom Welling returned as a wood-chopping Clark Kent in the second part of The CW’s crossover event, Crisis on Infinite Earths, which aired on Batwoman on Monday.
The New York-born 42-year-old – who starred as Superman in The CW’s Smallville from 2001-2011 – gave up his powers to raise a family with Lois Lane on his family farm on Earth-167.

‘He said to me, “You guys have basically written the one scene that I can’t say no to,” which was really, really nice. When you talk about the interactions, that’s my favorite scene. I feel like every note – even Tom’s little facial expressions when he says, “Oh, still stronger” [after he punches Jon Cryer’s Lex Luthor] is great.’
The 54-year-old Emmy winner told EW it was ‘unbelievably cool to work with Tom Welling’ because ‘Smallville was an absolutely amazing piece of work in terms of reimagining a character.’
Part two of Crisis on Infinite Earths also included two other dueling Supermen – Brandon Routh and Tyler Hoechlin.
The five-night crossover event uniting the superhero casts of Supergirl, Batwoman, The Flash, Arrow, and Legends of Tomorrow resumes Tuesday on The CW.
