Slack issues: App users report problems on Twitter after seeing double when sending messages

Slack users have been complaining of technical issues after the site appears to be duplicating messages in error.

Dozens of users took to Twitter on Friday afternoon writing that they were unable to send messages and that when they attempted again, multiples of the same message were sent.

One Twitter user wrote: “What’s going on with Slack! Messages are not sent, but are sending so end up sending/receiving multiple messages. Going crazy!”

“There seems to be an issue with slack saying messages aren’t delivered but they are (leading to duplication),” explained another user on Twitter. “Also reactions to messages and editing is not working.”

Slack said it is working to resolve the issue, posting on Twitter that they had “received other reports and are looking into it.”

The popular messaging software was launched in 2013 and is often used as a form of colleague-to-colleague communication in the workplace. At the beginning of this year, it racked up 10 million daily active users.
