Skepta announces new album 'Ignorance Is Bliss'

Arriving next month…

Skepta has announced his new album ‘Ignorance Is Bliss’ – see its artwork and further details below.

The North London Grime artist released his Mercury Prize-winning fourth LP, ‘Konnichiwa’, back in 2016. In a five-star review, NME described the collection as “a landmark in British street music, a record good enough to take on the world without having to compromise one inch in the process.”

Following on from 2017’s six-track EP, ‘Vicious‘, Skepta has now shared details of an upcoming full-length album. ‘Ignorance Is Bliss’ is set for release on May 31 and features 13 as-yet-untitled tracks.

The official artwork was shared via his social media channels earlier today (April 28), with the cover boasting a grid of nine thermal camera images.

While further details have not yet been shared, Skepta took to Instagram to thank his management team “for bringing my ideas to life”. ‘Ignorance Is Bliss’ is available to pre-order now.

In a post earlier this month, Skepta revealed that the album was originally titled ‘SkLEVEL’. He also told fans that he had “been working hard” and was “more focused than ever” as he recorded new material.

Meanwhile, Skepta is set to perform at this summer’s EXIT Festival. The Serbian event will also see shows from the likes of The Cure, Greta Van Fleet, and more across four days in July.
