  • German esports organization SK Gaming entered into long-term partnerships with U.S. sports equipment manufacturer, Nike, and online shop for soccer and team sports, 11teamsports.
  • Nike is the organization’s new supplier, while 11teamsports acts as the global distributor for SK Gaming’s jerseys and merchandise.
  • SK Gaming’s deal with Nike is the sporting equipment brand’s second partnership announced this week following a partnership announcement with T1 Entertainment & Sports.

Today, esports organization SK Gaming announced its 2020 jersey and merchandise collection in close cooperation with 11teamsports, a German online shop for soccer and team sports, and Nike as its new supplier. Going forward, 11teamsports and Nike will become the exclusive supplier and global distributor for SK Gaming’s merchandise and performance wear.

“We are incredibly proud to have our logo next to the world-famous Swoosh. As a brand, Nike stands for values that we live and breathe every day while 11teamsports will be able to provide us with the best possible support and infrastructure to take our merchandise to the next level”, said Alexander T. Müller, managing director of SK Gaming, in a release.

Nike is no stranger to esports sponsorship deals. Just yesterday, Nike and T1 Entertainment & Sports announced an exclusive partnership for all T1 players and teams, including the organization’s Korean League of Legends squad, formerly known as SKT T1. Nike will work with T1 to open a new training facility at the organization’s headquarters in Seoul, South Korea.

In February 2019, Nike entered into a four-year apparel sponsorship deal with TJ Sports for China’s League of Legends Pro League (LPL). The agreement includes all LPL players, coaches, referees, and team managers exclusively wearing Nike branded clothing and shoes on game days.

Financial terms of the partnership were not disclosed. To give a ballpark, Nike is currently the sports equipment supplier for multiple German Bundesliga soccer clubs, including Eintracht Frankfurt (estimated $3.34M USD yearly) and RB Leipzig ($4.45M yearly). In its last annual report, Nike reported revenues of $39B for its fiscal year (FY) 2019 (period ended May 31, 2019), and published that its contractual obligations for endorsement contracts during FY 2020 are $1.38B of which a tiny percentage goes towards esports.
