Rod will play a back catalog of his most famous hits, including ‘Da Ya Think I’m Sexy?’, ‘You Wear It Well’, ‘You’re In My Heart’, and of course ‘Maggie May’.
Across his five decade career, the UK-born singer has had 26 top ten singles in England and 17 top ten albums in the United States.
The Australian leg of his tour will come after he storms the stage in both UK and the United States.
Sir Rod’s tour will begin in Geelong in October, with tour dates spanning until November 7, before he will finish up in Mount Cotton, Queensland.
It comes after the star received the all-clear from prostate cancer in July, following a secret three-year battle with the disease.
Speaking on Loose Women recently, wife Penny Lancaster recalled: ‘He’s very up on his health. He doesn’t believe in retirement, he wants to keep going forever, so he’s always getting screenings and tests.’
All clear: ‘Rod and I were travelling into London at the same time every single day, going to the clinic’ Rod’s wife Penny Lancaster told UK chat show Loose Women earlier this year
Detailing the gruelling radiation treatment the Maggie May singer underwent to beat the disease, Penny explained: ‘Rod and I were travelling into London at the same time every single day, going to the clinic.
‘Rod’s never done one day, one week the same ever in his entire life. He put his positive head on, along with myself. The nurses had a little room for him. He took his computer, he said this was like my day in the office.’
Tickets for all shows go on sale on Friday, November 22, 9.00am. For more details, including tickets visit Live Nation.
