Sir Mick Jagger ‘needs doctor at side of stage at Rolling Stones gigs’ after heart op

The Rolling Stones frontman, 75, who had a heart valve replaced in April, is currently on tour in the US.

And the Start Me Up singer’s insurance firm insisted he has a cardiologist on standby at every show.

A band source said: “There has always been a doctor on tour with the band – that’s a requirement of any major tour, particularly given the ages of the band members.

“But now Mick has undergone heart surgery, there is a cardiologist there too, just for him.

“The insurance company demands it just in case anything happens.”

The US leg of the Stones’ No Filter tour finishes in Miami on August 31.

Sir Mick works out for two hours a day with a personal trainer to ensure he is fit enough for the gigs.

The source said: “He takes a handfuls of vitamins every day and has never looked or sounded better.”
