Sinitta fumes over Louis Walsh’s ‘unfair’ X Factor Celebrity return as she demands judging role

Louis Walsh delighted fans when he returned to the X Factor fold, taking part on this year’s Celebrity special.

However, there is one person who isn’t too thrilled at having the 67-year-old back on the panel, alongside Simon Cowell and Nicole Scherzinger.

In fact, Sinitta is gunning for his role.

Speaking to Metro.co.uk to promote Hotels.com’s new female football fans campaign, the former wag told us: ‘I think I should have Louis’ chair. I don’t understand why Louis has to do all the time.

‘I think Nicole and I, with Simon in the middle, would have so much fun. She’s crazy, she’s got such great energy and she’s stunning. And we put Simon in the middle… I think he’d be in his element. It would be a riot.

‘I don’t understand why Louis always gets to do it. It’s not fair.’

Over to you, Simon…

But, despite not landing a place on the X Factor: Celebrity panel, the 56-year-old is loving the new series.

‘It was really good fun,’ she continued. ‘It’s better than the old X Factor where it’s normal seating and it’s like being in a theatre show.

‘This is like being at a 1950s jazz club. It’s really different.

‘I hope that he [Simon] can just keep reinventing it until people just completely fall back in love with it again.’

The series has only been back on our screens a few weeks, but has already been met with fix claims – firstly when Jenny Ryan was axed, and once again when Olivia Olson was eliminated in favour of Martin Bashir.

The Love Actually star hit out at the decision to send her home, after Simon claimed she could ‘win the competition’.

However, Sinitta has defended Simon and the show, claiming Olivia should have put more into her performance.

‘I mean, the votes are the votes, right? She was good, but the problem is, the bottom two being her and Bashir,’ she added. ‘The situation is, “Okay, clearly Olivia is a better singer than Bashir”. But what she doesn’t realise is that Bashir is much more of an entertainer than she is.

‘She’s very beautiful, she’s going to work, I’m not worried about her at all. She could walk into any musical or theatre show and get a job tomorrow. But Martin Bashir running in and out of those feathers and trying to tap dance in the middle and all of that… You’ve got to see that.

‘The thought that he’s going to come back next week and single reggae, hopefully Bob Marley, No Woman No Cry or something like that, I need to see that.

‘I don’t need to see beautiful Olivia come out and sing another pretty song tonight. People have to realise that it is a TV show, as much as it’s a singing competition.’

The X Factor: Celebrity continues on Saturday, at 8.20pm, on ITV.
