The Game Awards has seen the announcement of not one but two new single-player only League Of Legends spin-off games.

Only a few months ago Riot Games announced a host of League Of Legends spin-offs, including a one-on-one fighter and card game Legends Of Runeterra.

At the time it was obvious they were trying to not only expand the reach of the franchise (as if it needed it, being arguably the most popular game in the world right now) and match arch-rival Blizzard in terms of the diversity of games they offer.

And now they’ve got two new single-player only story adventures: Ruined King by the makers of Darksiders Genesis and Conv/rgence by Double Stallion Games.

As was the case with many reveals at The Game Awards, there was very little detail to the announcements but Ruined King takes place after the Burning Tides event and features a ‘new take on turn-based combat’ – according to developer Joe Madureira.

Apart from having the worst name since the Xbox Series X, Conv/rgence stars Ekko, whose nickname in League Of Legends is The Boy Who Shattered Time.

In Conv/rgence that means he’ll be able to manipulate time on a personal level, speeding it up or slowing it down to jump across platforms, but also creating alternate timelines that can mess with reality.

Both games are subtitled A League Of Legends Story, implying there could be even more in the future, and are destined for both consoles and PC – although they never said which consoles.

There’s no release date for either though, which probably means they won’t be out next year.
