A FEW months after turning 30, Counting On star Jana Duggar revealed she wants to find her special someone and “longs to be married.”
As Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar’s eldest daughter and their only adult child who’s not married, Jana says she feels “pressure” to get hitched.
Though a “number of guys” have previously courted Jana, she never shared their identities because they never worked out.
Still, she said in the Counting On season 11 trailer that she’s open to dating and really “wouldn’t mind it all.”
The Growing Up Duggar: It’s All About Relationships coauthor told Us Weekly that she’s not trying to be “worried” about being 30 and single but does “long to be married.”
She added: “One day I think that will come, but I think … I’m just also just trying to stay busy with whatever comes along my path.”
The TLC reality star feels “a little more pressure” to find a husband because all of her adult sisters — Joy-Anna, 22, Jinger, 26, Jessa, 27and Jill, 29 —are married, and she’s the only single one left.
She’s doing her best not to dwell on the matter, though, because she finds it only “makes things way worse.”
Jana wants to find a husband, but she wants to find one with whom she shares the same kind of love her parents share.
The Duggar family patriarch and matriarch have been married for over 35 years and have 19 kids together, but Jana said their relationship is still as strong as ever.
She told the outlet of Jim Bob and Michelle: “They’re quick to forgive and to make, really try to make things right.
“The genuine love that they still have for one another … this young love and they still have that, you know, today.
“I think that’s rare to see couples that are their age and been married that long.”
During an October 2019 episode of Counting On, Jana gave a little more insight into her thoughts on dating and courtship.
The 30-year-old said at the time: “[My siblings] have been in relationships, courtships, whatever you want to label it as.
“Of course, it doesn’t always end in marriage and that’s OK.
“You have to sometimes talk to someone, get to know someone and realize, you know what, it doesn’t have to end in marriage.”
In the trailer for Counting On season 11, which premieres on TLC on July 7 at 8 p.m., Jana said “it can be tiring everyone asking” about her relationship status, but then she got a little uncomfortable when asked if she has a boyfriend.
She sparked dating rumors in March that she was courting Bringing Up Bates star Lawson Bates when she visited him.
Fans saw video of the two of them together and speculated they were together.
After one asked her point blank if they were courting, she replied “no, we’re not a thing.”
