Simon Rimmer: ‘There isn’t a limit’ Sunday Brunch host addresses boozy antics on show

Sunday Brunch presenter Simon Rimmer, 56, said it is “fun” to see guests drinking alcohol, admitting there is “no limit” when it comes to booze on the show.

Simon said: “It’s fun when they’ve had a few drinks. There isn’t a limit to how much they can have.

“I quite like it when they have a few drinks and end up holding two glasses and then keep drinking until the end of the show.”

But, the chef admitted some guests have let slip swear words on occasions after forgetting they’re on a live show.

He added to the Daily Star: “We all swear far more when we’re in a relaxed situation than when you’re being formal.

“So we get a lot of that. There are times when the guests actually forget that they’re on telly, which is really lovely.”

Simon has been fronting the Channel 4 show alongside Tim Lovejoy, 51, for the past seven years.

Before that, the television duo presented Something for the Weekend on BBC Two from 2006 to 2012.

Despite his regular slot on their current show, Simon Rimmer recently said he was keen to try something new.

In an interview with Express.co.uk this year, the chef said he would be up for taking part on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!.

He said: “I’ll do the jungle I think. I always said I wouldn’t do it but I think now, I would.

“Everyone I know who has done that [show] said it’s good fun so maybe I’ll do that.”

Back in 2017, Simon competed on Strictly Come Dancing with professional dancer Karen Hauer, 37.

Despite his best efforts on the dance floor, Kevin was voted out of the show in week six.

In the same interview, Simon reflected on his partnership with his dance partner.

He said: “I’m still very much in touch with her [Karen].

“She’s a proper lass. She’s very intense. You know, all the pro-dancers are.

“They are 100 per cent professional and they push you.

“They think you can do a little bit, they want to push you to do that little bit more.”

Sunday Brunch continues today at 9.30am on Channel 4.
