Simon Rimmer: 'Not the best start' Sunday Brunch host hits back after Tim Lovejoy snub

Simon Rimmer, 56, looked very fed up when his Sunday Brunch co-host Tim Lovejoy said he “loved” their guest chef Jeremy Pang more than him. The TV personality was irritated by the on-air snub, which took place on today’s episode of the Channel 4 show after Jeremy revealed he would be cooking up some delicious treats in the studio.

The School of Wok founder introduced his cooking segment by explaining: “I’m going to do some nice barbecue ribs and a pomelo and crab wonton tartlet, can’t wait!”

After feasting his eyes on Jeremy’s culinary delights, Tim gushed: “I love Jeremy.”

“More than me?” Simon asked his fellow presenter in response.

Tim couldn’t resist teasing his co-star as he replied: “So much more than you. His food is amazing.”

Simon appeared to be less than impressed with the remark as he folded his arms and frowned while Tim continued to tell viewers what was coming up on the programme.

Sensing his mood, Tim took the opportunity to try to make amends, adding: “Sorry mate but look at those ribs!”

However, the chef curtly hit back: “No, it’s fine, I get it. It’s fine.

“It’s not been the best start of the show.”

As the studio burst into giggles, Simon exclaimed: “Glad we sorted that one out!”

Elsewhere, in a previous episode of Sunday Brunch, Simon and Strictly Come Dancing judge Shirley Ballas took swipes at one another.

The restaurateur told Shirley how to make a banana and cream dish, and jokingly declared he was out for “revenge” on her after appearing on the BBC dance competition in 2017.

He said to the Ballroom and Latin dance expert: “This is revenge for me! I’m going to enjoy this!”
