Simon Cowell made a reputation as the ‘Mr Nasty’ of talent shows, thanks to his searingly honest retorts to hopefuls on shows including Britain’s Got Talent, Pop Idol and X Factor.

However, Todrick Hall has seen a huge change in the 60-year-old since he welcomed son Eric with partner Lauren Silverman.

And the Greatest Dancer star – who tussled with the music mogul while competing on American Idol back in 2009 – is loving it.

Speaking to Metro.co.uk, he told us: ‘Honestly, having a child has made him a completely different person.

‘It’s been really, really cool to see the human version of Simon, to see him be so sweet and to see how much he’s changed.’

Todrick has joined the second series of The Greatest Dancer, alongside veteran judges Oti Mabuse, Cheryl and Matthew Morrison.

Speaking about the BBC series, the 34-year-old also admitted it’s a ‘very strange’ situation working with Simon – who produces the show – once more

‘That is a very strange situation because I always… After I left American Idol, that was the fire that was lit within me to say, “I have to prove Simon wrong one day, he’s going to regret not seeing the star that I am.”

‘Never in a million years would I have imagined that we would be working together and that I would see him, and not have PTSD from my experiences on American Idol, but genuinely be excited to see him and have a chat with him on a normal basis.

‘I forget Simon has legs because, to me, I’ve only seen him behind a desk.

‘It’s definitely a completely different dynamic than it was before.’

Simon and Lauren welcomed little Eric together on Valentine’s Day, back in 2014.

And the ITV star revealed he’s already worried for the six-year-old growing up, dreading his playground antics.

In a very candid chat with Weekend Magazine, he said: ‘Him being bullied is what I dread most.

‘There are two things that worry me about him growing up. One is stress. Children are under so much stress – with homework, pressure. I really don’t want that for him.

‘The second thing is bullying. It terrifies me. If there’s even a whiff of it… I don’t think I could handle it.’

The Greatest Dancer continues on Saturdays, on BBC One.
