Shroud Announces Return to Twitch With Exclusive Deal

Professional streamer and former Counter-Strike: Global Offensive pro Michael “Shroud” Grzesiek signed an exclusive deal Tuesday with streaming platform Twitch. Grzesiek returns to the platform where he originated his streaming career, having left in 2019 for an exclusive contract with Microsoft’s now-defunct platform Mixer. His new Twitch deal was facilitated by talent agency Loaded.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Shortly before his departure, Grzesiek had become one of the most-watched streamers on Twitch due to explosive growth surrounding the launch of Apex Legends

Grzesiek’s Twitch deal also likely puts to bed rumors that the former CS:GO pro was considering a return to professional competition, which had gained traction in recent days due to teaser images posted on his social media accounts which have now been revealed to be teasers for his personal brand redesign.

Since the announcement of Mixer’s closure, Grzesiek and fellow streamer Tyler “Ninja” Blevins have been the subject of significant scrutiny and speculation surrounding what platform the streamers would next call home. While Blevins has toyed with his options more openly, streaming on YouTube recently before it came out that he was still in talks with the platform, Facebook, and Twitch, Grzesiek went largely silent after Mixer shut down, but is now the first of the pair to declare his exclusivity.
