Shrewsbury vs Liverpool prediction: How will FA Cup fourth-round tie play out?

Liverpool travel to Shrewsbury Town in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Sunday.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are looking to sustain their treble hopes, having stretched their Premier League lead to 16 points with a Champions League round-of-16 tie against Atletico Madrid still to come.

Klopp is likely to take the opportunity to rest his senior players, with teenage wingers Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliott set to be given another chance to shine.

Shrewsbury are currently sitting in 16th in League One, but remain comfortably clear of the relegation zone, and upset Bristol City in the previous round to reach this stage of the competition.

Here is everything you need to know:

When is it?

The match will kick-off at 5pm at New Meadow on Sunday 26 January.

How to watch it?

The match will be broadcast live on BBC One, with coverage beginning at 4.30pm.

Team news

Sam Rickett’s side are likely to field their strongest possible line-up, with a week’s break before their next fixture. Shaun Walley, who impressed against Fleetwood, and Oliver Norburn are likely to be the dangermen.

Sadio Mane has been ruled out with an injury, while Takumi Minamino and Pedro Chirivella are set to start. Divock Origi, Fabinho and Joel Matip could all feature too in an otherwise young starting line-up.

Predicted line-ups

Shrewsbury: O’Leary; Williams, Ebanks-Landell, Pierre; Love, Norburn, Laurent, Golbourne; Whalley, Lang, Edwards

Liverpool: Adrian; Williams, Matip, Van der Berg, Larouci; Fabinho, Jones, Chirivella; Elliott, Origi, Minamino

Odds

Shrewsbury 7/1

Draw 18/5

Liverpool 4/11

Prediction

Jurgen Klopp’s young side impressed against Everton in the previous round and the promise of Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliott may prove too hard to extinguish, despite what will undoubtedly be a battling performance from Rickett’s League One side.

Shrewsbury 0-3 Liverpool
