Emerging from the vehicle, Paddy jokes to co-host Freddie Flintoff, 42: “I’m just gonna go and give myself a quick wet wipe. I hope they’ve been in the fridge.”

Luckily, Paddy came away unscathed from the accident, which was first revealed by The Sun in June. Still, he probably left behind some nasty skid marks.

Earlier this summer, we revealed Paddy had bagged yet another high-profile gig for the BBC.

Fresh from being handed the reins to Top Gear and becoming the new face of Total Wipeout alongside his pal Freddie Flintoff, he now also has a singing show under his belt.

Paddy will front the new BBC1 mystery music game show I Can See Your Voice, which will air next year.

Contestants on the series will try to guess who can and can’t sing, from a line-up of singers, to win a cash prize.

Paddy said: “A show like this doesn’t come along very often. It’s bonkers, silly and the ultimate family night in.
