Shirley Ballas: Strictly judge ‘sick’ after death threats as she turns to vitamin drip

Strictly Come Dancing 2019 judge Shirley Ballas, 59, hooked herself up to a vitamin drip yesterday after a “tough week”.

The television star said she was feeling “under the weather” after reportedly receiving death threats following the shock elimination of Dev Griffin and Dianne Buswell from the show.

Earlier in the week, professional dancer Dianne, 30, took to Twitter to urge people to stop “bullying” the head judge when responding to a tweet which spoke of death threats.

The Twitter user wrote: “Please sort your fans out @dbuzz6589 & @Joe_Sugg. I get why people are upset & I don’t think it was @dev_101’s time to go. But sending vile abusive tweets & death threats to @ShirleyBallas is totally out of order. Imagine if it was a member of your family on the receiving end.”

Dianne quickly responded to the tweet, saying: “Guys this is terrible you can not be bullying like this. It’s awful and really upsets me to hear this. It’s simply not ok and should never happen!”

Following a stressful week, Shirley turned to the vitamin drip in order to get better for Saturday night’s live show.

Speaking on her Instagram Stories she told her 136,000 followers: “I’m under the weather today for sure and getting sick, so hopefully will be right as rain by Saturday.”

She then shared several pictures on her gird which showed her hooked up to the drip.

The Strictly star said it contained “all sorts of things – vitamin c, magnesium, b12 and the list goes on.”

She added: “Feeling under the weather today as a result of a tough week. So @revivuk will have me up and running by Saturday @#gratitude #sick #health #feelingbetter”.
