Shilpa Shetty has welcomed a baby girl via a surrogate.
The Celebrity Big Brother star and her businessman husband Raj Kundra are now the proud parents of Samisha.
The 44-year-old announced the exciting news by sharing a snap of herself clutching her newborn’s tiny hand on Instagram on Friday.
She wrote: ‘Om Shri Ganeshaya Namah
‘Our prayers have been answered with a miracle… With gratitude in our hearts, we are thrilled to announce the arrival of our little Angel, Samisha Shetty Kundra.
‘Born: February 15, 2020. Junior SSK in the house?.’
The Bollywood actress then explained the sweet meaning behind Samisha.
‘”Sa” in Sanskrit is “to have”, and “Misha” in Russian stands for “someone like God,”’ Shilpa wrote.
‘You personify this name – our Goddess Laxmi, and complete our family. Please bestow our angel with all your love and blessings??❤.’
The reality star said her parents were ‘ecstatic’ and her brother was ‘overjoyed’, before signing off: ‘#SamishaShettyKundra #gratitude #blessed #MahaShivratri #daughter #family #love.’
Shilpa tied the knot with husband Raj in 2009.
They also have a son, Viaan Raj, who was born in May 2012.
Shilpa shot to fame on Celebrity Big Brother in 2007, in which she became embroiled in a race row with Jade Goody.
The actress, who ended up winning that series, had the scandal revisited last year in the Channel 4 documentary Jade: The Reality Star Who Changed Britain.
