Sheridan Smith couldn’t stop smiling as she made her red carpet debut with ex-boyfriend Alex Lawler amid rumours they’re back together.
The pair attended the Pride & Prejudice* (*sort of) press night at the Criterion Theatre in London on Wednesday night and seemed thrilled to be in each other’s company.
Arriving at the event together, Sheridan stood out in a red oversized blazer while Alex matched her smart look in a black blazer of his own as they happily posed for photos together.
It comes weeks after Sheridan alluded to her reconciling with her former boyfriend, who she first dated two decades ago.
Alongside a selfie of her and Alex together, the Cilla actress wrote in September: ‘So pleased this fitty I dated back in the day (20 years ago) is back in my life! Life works in mysterious ways. Miss u Mr L [sic].’
Alex is also an actor with credits including 2001 comedy Mike Bassett: England Manager, Sky One football TV drama Dream Team between 2002-2005, as well as a number of TV series, including Blue Murder and Lost in Austen. He now works as a filmmaker.
In July, Sheridan split from fiance Jamie Horn after three years together.
The estranged couple said in a joint statement: ‘It is with great sadness that we have decided to have some time apart.
‘We both remain completely committed to raising our beautiful boy Billy together. We ask that you respect our privacy during this difficult time. Thank you.’
The Two Pints of Lager actress began dating Jamie, 31, in early 2018 and got engaged after a few months. They share a son, Billy, who was born in May 2020.
Hours before hitting the red carpet, Sheridan was in mummy mode and shared a cute photo of Billy sitting slouched in his pram.
The TV star joked with her followers: ‘He never sits straight, he likes to chill. Cracks me up! So like me.’
