Sheep are the new dogs, apparently, after The Grand Tour’s Jeremy Clarkson took his bleating pal off to the pub this week.
Encouraging a menagerie of beings to descend on your local watering hole now the beer gardens are open, Jeremy shared a shot of his jaunt to his own – clearly giving the usual pub dogs a bit of a fright.
Alongside a photo uploaded to the former Top Gear host’s Instagram on Wednesday, Jeremy wrote: ‘Surprised dog at the pub yesterday.’
He was seen cuddling up to the furry black and white lamb, which bore a striking resemblance to Nula, who was introduced on the Diddly Squat Farm Instagram last month (unless lambs are just randomly roaming around pubs now. It’s been a while since we’ve been to one, so nature may well have taken over for all we know).
In the background, though, was a brown dog who was either trying to figure out what Jeremy was holding, or looking at its next meal as the leashed hound gazed in the direction of the star.
Of course his followers thought it was a right laugh, as they chimed in with a whole bunch of witty comments including: ‘Nice dog, Jeremy’, and ‘that’s a cat’.
Many others believed they spotted James May in the background (perhaps just his doppelganger) with the official DriveTribe account replying: ‘Can’t believe you didn’t let May sit at the table with you. Even wore his favourite blue jumper.’
We really can’t blame Jeremy for bringing along his farm animals wherever he goes after 34 of his chickens were slaughtered by a fox last week.
An irate Jeremy – who owns the farm in Chadlington, Oxfordshire, and sells eggs at his Diddly Squat Farm Shop – said that a large number of his chickens had been destroyed, writing: ‘A fox has just killed 34 of my hens.’
While the presenter didn’t share any further information on the situation, when a follower questioned whether Jeremy was being serious or not and shared they were ‘waiting for the punchline’, the host said: ‘You’ll hear it’, as fans suggested he was going to take matters into his own hands to deal with the fiendish fox.
Over on his Instagram, Jeremy shared a clip of a bunch of chickens – we can only assume they’re his own pen dwellers – warbling, as he wrote: ‘A fox has just killed all of them.’
Jeremy was clearly feeling energised by his supporters, as he defiantly declared alongside a freeze-frame from an iconic Top Gear moment what his intentions were.
To put it plainly? ‘I’m gonna get that bastard.’
