She wasn’t Alone – Robbie Craig to Boot!

I am sure you have heard of a drive in cinema, but television personality Gemma Collins recently hosted a drive in bingo night recently and it was a roaring success.

She wasn’t Alone - Robbie Craig to Boot!

Collins, formerly of reality show TOWIE, hosted the drive in bingo night on 9th September. The event was brilliant and attracted over 150 cars in a socially distanced Manchester car park. We’ve seen many celebrities getting involved in social distancing type events over this weird period in our history, including board games, video slots and more!

The event was organised by PlayOJO in an attempt to allow the public to enjoy a bingo night during the coronavirus pandemic. The show lasted over three hours with everyone being royally entertained.

She wasn’t alone – Robbie Craig to boot!

It was not just the former I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here contestant who was providing the entertainment though. Robbie Craig from East 17 was also there. Craig performed a couple of songs much to the delight of Collins and the rest of the audience.

Gemma was as funny as ever and even treated the audience to a performance of Nothing I Can’t Do originally by East 17. Whilst her singing skills may not be as bubbly as her personality, it was great to see both the audience and herself enjoy the performance.

East 17 were famous for singing songs such as Stay Another Day and If You Ever back in the 1990s. The other members in the group were Terry Coldwell and Joe Livermore. The performances live with Gemma were sure to be a great trip down memory lane for everyone in the audience who witnessed it.

Tickets were awarded through a ballot on the PlayOJO website. The lucky winners all had a great time and even made it onto the 39-year-old’s Instagram page (which has over two million followers).

Gemma Collins… Garage Girl?

On Instagram, Collins wrote: “I have always been a GARAGE GIRL! this is how weeeee DO …. ROBBIE CRAIG! Tonight I have had the time of my life with this lot @officialeast17 and @playojo car park bingo. Thank you so much for the fun, it’s moments like this that take me back to the Romford girl who loved garage and partying… I’m still the same. It’s been so nice to let my hair down because I’ve been working 24/7 nonstop, however nights like tonight really make it all worth it such fun.”

After this event was such a success, we may see some more drive in bingo nights in the future, who knows? We may even see some more crazy drive-ins to go with the cinemas and bingo nights. With some live music thrown in, it definitely makes for a great night for the crowd.

We could see some other nostalgic music performers, too. After dueting with someone from East 17, Gemma may like the idea of performing with Westlife or Blue. The drive-in bingo was such a success that we do not think this will be the only one that she does. Keep your eyes peeled for the next one should it be announced.

More to Come, We Hope

Perhaps in the future we may see other casino games in a drive-in situation. Roulette would make for an interesting game as we could see a dealer spinning the ball on a screen then people placing their bets on a handheld device. It would not quite have the same thrill of going to an actual casino but it would certainly make for a creative and interesting experience. Having someone such as Gemma Collins spin the wheel would entice people to try out the game if they had not played it before. There has not been any talk of this yet but it would definitely be something that could have some potential if there is enough interest.
