Shawn Mendes has confirmed that he’ll be dropping a new album and, well, fans have completely lost their cool.

He’s been notably absent from social media for nearly a month now, and finally, the In My Blood crooner explained that he’s been off preparing album number four.

Excellent news.

A fan account for Shawn shared a video he had posted to his Instagram story that saw him tell fans: ‘What’s up guys, I know that I haven’t been on Instagram at all lately, but I just wanted to say that I love and I miss you so much.

‘I’m making another album. I love you and I’ll see you soon.’

Short, sweet, and to the point.

Fans went nuts over the news, as expected, with one commenting: ‘I’M SO EXCITED!!!! MENDES ARMY WE ARE GONNA HAVE A NEW ALBUM.’

Another said: ‘Ik I already knew he was making one but him just saying it and confirming it like that has me SHOOOK.’ [sic]

A third wrote: ‘Omg finally hes coming out with a new album and new music cant wait.’

Shawn’s last release was back in 2018, when he dropped his third self-named album Shawn Mendes.

He then went on to release two singles in 2019, one being I Can’t Have You that peaked at number two in the US charts and the other being his collab track, Senorita, with girlfriend Camila Cabello, that pretty much topped the charts all over.

The couple went public with their relationship last year, after months of romance rumours, and Camila later revealed that she’s had the feels for boyfriend Shawn since 2015.

They finally ended up getting together and she admits that her second album, Romance, was pretty much inspired by their real-life romance, with many tracks on the album being about Shawn.

During an appearance on ITV’s Lorraine, Camila said: ‘Like, from my first album to now, it’s probably what’s influenced my entire album.

‘And it being called Romance and it being about falling in love, I literally did not have time to fall in love before the age of 20, because I was just working all the time.’

She gushed: ‘I’ve known him for such a long time and I don’t know, he just feels like home to me. Yeah, I’m really happy.’
