In photos obtained exclusively by DailyMail.com, the pair looked very much in love as they shared a passionate kiss on the shore.

Shawn and Camila donned 70s inspired getups as they attended this year’s Met Gala on September 13 in New York City.

Two weeks prior, the Mercy crooner accompanied the former Fifth Harmony singer to the Miami premiere of Amazon’s Cinderella. Camila played the title character, while Shawn made a small cameo in the poorly received film.

Before hitting the red carpet, Shawn congratulated ‘my love’ Camila on the movie and expressed how ‘proud’ he was of her for taking on the project.

‘I’ve never seen anybody work as hard as you did to show up everyday and be truly professional, kind and authentic,’ wrote the hitmaker on Instagram along with a photo of himself and Camila sharing a kiss.

‘I admire you so much. Such a beautiful movie with a beautiful message,’ concluded Shawn, who included the Spanish phrase ‘te amo mi vida’ which translates in English to ‘I love you, sweetheart/my life.’

After five years of friendship, the Senorita collaborators decided to take their relationship to a romantic level in July of 2019.

The hitmakers first met in 2014 while serving as supporting acts for Austin Mahone’s Live On Tour’ concerts. Camila was still a member of the X-Factor derived girl group Fifth Harmony.

Instantly connecting, the pair decided to collaborate on a song, titled I Know What You Did Last Summer, which was released in November 2015.

As their personal and working relationship blossomed, Camila and Shawn sparked dating rumors – something they’d actively combat in the years leading up to their romance.

The rumors went into overdrive when the pair dropped the steamy music video for their second collaborative single Senorita in June of 2019.

The music video captured several ultra romantic moments between the supposed ‘friends,’ including one scene that saw Shawn rip off his shirt as he sang just inches away from Camila’s face.

Though the pair would officially confirm their romance in August, Camila and Shawn were photographed kissing on a number of occasions in the weeks leading up to the confirmation.

Instead of satiating fans’ years-long desire for them to get together, Shawn and Camila were almost instantly met with skepticism over the authenticity of their budding romance.

Shawn attempted to quash the rumors by stressing to TMZ in September 2019 that his romance with Camila was ‘definitely not a PR stunt’ and very real.

Though the speculation never let up, Camila and Shawn seemingly made peace with the negativity by not letting it stop them from flaunting their love for one another on social media.

They shared some of their most intimate snapshots while hunkered down at their sprawling Miami, Florida home for the entirety of the COVID-19 lockdown.

Towards the latter end of 2020, Netflix released the documentary Shawn Mendes: In Wonder that chronicled his meteoric rise to superstardom.

In the documentary, the singer revealed that Camila was his musical muse and that ‘all’ the songs he’s ever written were about her.
