Sharon Osbourne will delve into her family history on Who Do You Think You Are?


Sharon Osbourne is set to appear on Who Do You Think You Are? to probe her history, despite her tumultuous relationship with nearly all of her family.

The TV personality, 66, will be delving into her family’s past however it is unclear whether she will be looking into her father Don Arden or mother Hope, both whom she has publicly lamented over the years.

Sharon was seen at various filming locations including Tunbridge Wells in Kent earlier this week allegedly shooting for the show, according to The Mirror.

The former X Factor judge was estranged from her father for 20 years before they reunited shortly before his death in 2007.

She has previously described him as an ‘evil old b******’, and recalled a time when she was crying and shaking because he was threatening to kill her.

There relationship was so turbulent that Sharon even attempted to run her father over, while Ozzy sat next to her in the passenger seat of the car.

Sharon’s music mogul father sued her for millions when she persuaded her now husband Ozzy to leave her dad’s record label, Jet Records.

Don reportedly made friends with Joe Pagano – who was a member of the Genovese, one of the five big Mafia families in New York – and Sharon made sure that her three children had nothing to do with Don and simply told them their grandfather was dead so they did not have to meet him. 

She previously said: ‘I told them that because I didn’t want him anywhere near them and I certainly didn’t want them seeing him.

The mother-of-three also endured a rocky relationship with her Irish mother Hope, who she recently admitted was behind her initial decision to get plastic surgery. 

She said she started getting plastic surgery because she looked like her mother and ‘I didn’t want to look like my mum’.

When she heard about her mother’s passing she said it was a ‘shame’, but Sharon previously admitted she ‘didn’t like her mother at all’ and they had ‘no friendship’.

While she recalled found memories of her paternal grandmother who would cook for her and tuck her into bed at night.  

However despite her dark history with her ancestors, Sharon shares a close bond with her husband Ozzy and their three children, Jack, 33, Kelly, 34, and Aimee, 35.

Sharon recently broke down in tears while discussing her suicide attempt during an appearance on Loose Women, where she revealed Ozzy saved her after she made an attempt on her life.

The music manager candidly discussed her mental health battle and her 23-year long dependency on antidepressants, which she confessed she ‘could not live without’.

Sharon revealed that three years ago, during a ‘very bad time’ in her life, she attempted suicide and was found by Ozzy who rushed her to hospital.

The former X Factor judge added that her children – were ‘terribly cross’ with her and ‘frightened’.

Sharon said: ‘Three years ago, I had a very bad time in my life and I just thought I’m going to bail, I can’t take it anymore. I just can’t take the pressure. It’s not just me, many people feel this way.

‘My husband found me and took me to the hospital … yes, they [the kids] were terribly cross and heartbroken and frightened and everything that goes with it.

‘When I was in treatment, there was two girls whose mother had committed suicide – two separate girls – and the damage that was left for them. I would never do it again.’
