You’ve likely been seeing a lot more of the inside of your home than usual over these last few weeks, with lockdown forcing us to eat, sleep, work, and play in our houses.
For some, that’s also meant a lot more cleaning has been in order, sweeping up the extra crumbs and wiping off fingerprints with the extra time we have on our hands.
If you’re keen for a spring clean but relying on old tools to get it done, you might be excited to learn that vacuum giants Shark and Dyson are both currently having spring sales.
These cleaners aren’t cheap, but if you’re in the market for one, you can get it a lot cheaper right now. Here are our top picks from each brand’s sale.
Dyson sale
The Dyson sale has savings of up to £75 per vacuum.
Their spring sale lasts until April 21, and also includes air purifiers and task lights that can reduce eye strain for those working from home on more fiddly bits.
In terms of vacuums, the Dyson V7 Motorhead is the cheapest on the site, at £199 with £75 off.
It has 30 minutes of cord-free cleaning and comes with five tools and accessories, including a Motorised cleaner head for powerful cleaning.
Next up price-wise is the V8 Animal Extra which is idea for those with pets and is down from £374.99 to £299.99.
This model has 40 minutes run time as well as a number of tools, but is specifically designed to capture allergens and get deep into carpets to lift pet hair.
For a super high-tech option, there’s the £349.99 (down from £399.99) Cyclone V10 Animal vacuum.
Another one for pets, this cleaner has 60 minutes of runtime on a full charge. With the same settings as the V8, but more powerful suction, this model also offers three different modes depending on what you’re cleaning.
Shark sale(
There are even bigger savings to be had on Shark vacuums, which are the favourite of cleanfluencer Mrs Hinch.
The DuoClean Lift-Away vacuum is down fro £249.99 to £149.97, and comes with Upholstery Tool and 2 in 1 Duster Crevice Tool.
For those of you with stairs, this one easily converts from an upright vacuum to a portable cleaner, making those finicky bits much easier.
Similar to the DuoClean Lift-Away is this high-powered model, which also has anti hair-wrap and pet technology for £249.95.
The pet power brush that comes with it gets deep into the upholstery, and you can still switch from a regular clean to portable.
Fans of cordless cleaners have two options here in the sale – the stick vacuum with 40 minutes runtime or 80 minutes.
Both models have flexology, which allows you to click the vacuum pole so it easily slides under sofas and beds.
DuoClean and anti hair-wrap are also included here, just with the added benefit of no faffing with a cord.
The single battery option is £249.95, or the double battery is £349.93, both with over £100 off each.
