YouTuber Shane Dawson’s Twitter has been hacked by vile trolls posting homophobic abuse at James Charles and bringing back cat-gate in a stream of offensive tweets.

The hackers targeted Shane, 31, on Friday, posting numerous vile comments including calling fellow YouTuber and beauty blogger James Charles a ‘f****t’ and claiming ‘Nazi Germany did nothing wrong’.

The trolls also posted comments about Shane’s cat, rehashing the drama earlier this year that meant he had to deny sexually abusing his pet following some comments he had made in 2015.

The comments were made on his Shane And Friends podcast, but were said in jest and Shane told his Twitter followers earlier this year: ‘I didn’t f**k my cat. I didn’t c*m on my cat. I didn’t put my d**k anywhere near my cat.

‘I’ve never done anything weird with my cats. I promised myself I wasn’t going to make apology videos after last year’s thing so I’m just trying to be as short and honest with this as possible.’

He added: ‘I’ve apologised many times for all the dumb s**t I’ve said in videos and podcasts over the years.

‘I’ve learned my lesson over and over again and I’m more confident now in my ability to be entertaining by just being myself and not being so shocking for laughs.’

He had previously had to apologise for some comments he had made on the podcast about paedophilia as well as being accused of being too sympathetic towards Jake Paul and Jeffree Star following their racism accusations.

At present, the tweets are in the process of being deleted, which may indicate that Shane or his team are working to regain control of the account, which was taken over by hackers calling themselves the Chuckling Squad.

The trolls, whose account only joined Twitter this month, had also offered to give out his password if people joined them on Discord, a voice and text chat app for gamers.
