Holidays to a plethora of destinations are back on – as of today.

At 4am this morning, 47 countries were removed from the UK Foreign Office’s red list – a move that means arrivals no longer have to spend 11 nights in a quarantine hotel.

In addition to this, the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) has lifted its advice against all but essential travel.

When an announcement on the change was made last Thursday, Skyscanner saw a 60% rise in traffic to its website, as wannabe holidaymakers looked to make the most of the new ‘approved’ destinations.

The shift in rules also means it’s a great opportunity to seek out some winter sun as we head into the colder months, as well as make the most of the upcoming October half term.

It’s worth pointing out that seven countries still remain on the UK’s red list: Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Haiti, Panama and Peru.

But which travel hotspots are now an option again?

These new green-lit countries are bound to be featured on Instagram feeds very soon:
