Sergio Aguero has made those close to him aware of his next move as a Barcelona switch nears.
The Manchester City striker will leave the Etihad after a hugely successful decade at the club.
Aguero departs as their all-time leading goal scorer having picked up his fair share of trophies along the way.
Despite being 32 the striker, who has had to battle injury problems this term, remains a class act and has a lot to offer.
He has been prolific wherever he’s been and was linked with a host of clubs – namely the Catalan giants.
Aguero has now told his family and close circle of friends that a deal is done to take him to the Nou Camp, according to Catalonian outlet Beteve.
That comes after he tried to quashed speculation over a move recently when he said on his official Twitch channel : “They are all writing Barca, Barca, Barca.
“Let’s hold on a little, have a look. Stop. We are still with City.”
The striker enjoys a healthy relationship with compatriot and Barcelona talisman Lionel Messi, a factor that may have influenced any deal.
That said, there is no guarantee Messi will renew his contract in Spain come the end of the season.
It could mean Ronald Koeman is on the look out for new forwards so Aguero’s signing would make sense as he also targets Georginio Wijnaldum and Memphis Depay.
The Argentine had been linked with a Premier League stay amid suggestions he was determined to break more records.
Chelsea were touted as a possible destination given their desire to sign a striker in the summer, but it appears Aguero may have chosen Spain instead.
He has already proven his appetite for goals in La Liga having made his name at Atletico Madrid before joining City.
In the Spanish capital Aguero scored 101 times in 234 outings.
